PATTYS ART SPOT

Now, as far as the decorated ostrich eggs--that's a new project this year. I usually do chicken eggs and peacock eggs and duck eggs.  Ostrich eggs are a completely new ballgame

Did you know there is about a quart of stuff inside one of those?  They actually blow out easier than a chicken egg, because you can make such a big hole in them. Yes, I actually use a drill to do it. You should have seen me and my Dad trying to figure out how to do that one day

(My ostrich egg connection is the Ogelbay zoo--very close to my parent's house)

He was holding it while I drilled. I tried not to break it and cover us both in goo.  I've not broken one yet--And I've cooked them and drilled them and sanded them and scratched them and painted them. I have not thrown one down or stomped one, but I have given them a pretty good workout.
-------------------------------------------------All the ones pictured here are Christmas presents
(or Anniversary),
but I don’t plan on these being the only ones I ever do.

It’s that time of the year again for me to start making my Christmas eggs! I usually add something new every year, but I have so many doing now, I might actually streamline and run with this tried & true design of swirls and colored eggs. It’s been working well so far.
Everyone in my family gets one of those each year. Some people I know have 15 or more. They don’t usually last too many years. Someone always drops them while hanging them up or putting them away. They don’t usually survive a fall of more than three or four feet, unless it’s onto carpet. They might last through a couple good falls them.
I lost three or four last year when my tree kept falling over! We finally got smart and tied it up with a nice red and greed and white rope! It wasn’t real pretty, but it worked!
